Tile layers in Malta for bathroom, kitchen, floor and wall tiling, with preparation and existing-tile suitability assessed before installation.
Tiling · Malta
Looking for tile layers in Malta for a bathroom renovation, kitchen floor or wider property refurbishment? WS Installations provides floor and wall tiling as a defined package or as part of coordinated finishing work. If you want to tile over existing tiles, their bond, supporting surface and the proposed new finish need assessment first.
A useful quotation starts with the actual work area: the existing surface, measured areas where available, tile format, proposed layout and the preparation required. We agree supply and installation responsibilities so the next stage has a clear starting point.
Scope of work
Discuss the rooms, measured areas, tile formats, setting-out and edges or junctions to be included in the installation.
Coordinate the tiled areas with fittings, plumbing positions, equipment and any other work in the room.
Assess existing surfaces, adjoining levels and the preparation included in the scope before arranging installation.
Before work starts
Send the property location, photographs, floor plans or measured areas, tile dimensions and the rooms involved. Explain whether this is a new installation, replacement of existing tiles or part of a refurbishment. Include any selected fittings and the dates you are working towards. Plumbing and electrical positions, surface preparation, thresholds and final fittings can affect tile laying. Discuss these interfaces before the layout is agreed. Any required waterproofing system, removal work, specialist preparation and material-supply responsibilities should be confirmed explicitly in the quotation.
A clearer quotation
| Your starting point | What to consider |
|---|---|
| New apartment or finishing package | Provide the room areas, selected tile formats and remaining installation work. Agree surface preparation, thresholds and the sequence with other trades. |
| Bathroom or kitchen refurbishment | Share existing and proposed layouts, fittings and photographs. Identify any removal, service changes, waterproofing or preparation to be assessed. |
| Replacing existing floor or wall tiles | Explain the condition of the existing surface and any damage or moisture concerns. Removal, preparation and adjoining finishes need review. |
The tiled area, tile format, cuts and detailing, condition of existing surfaces, removal work and selected materials affect the quotation. Distinguish preparation, tile laying, supply and any other required systems so prices can be compared against the same scope.
The scope is assessed for your property. Send the available information so we can confirm the next step and whether a site visit is needed.
Original WS project work
The Shoreline Block D case study records WS plastering and painting works. For your tiling project, the tile-laying areas, preparation and materials are agreed separately.
Your questions
It may be possible if the old tiles are firmly bonded to a sound, stable background and the proposed system, added weight and finished levels are suitable. Loose or moving tiles need investigation and removal as necessary before a new finish is specified.
The existing bond and wall background must be assessed for the combined weight of the old and new finish. Do not cover loose, moving or bulging wall tiles. Their age alone does not establish whether they can be retained.
Tell us what you have selected or purchased, including dimensions, quantities and expected delivery dates. The quotation should state who supplies tiles, installation materials, trims and other required items.
Send the property location, floor and wall areas where available, photographs, tile dimensions and the proposed layout. Mention loose tiles, cracks, damp concerns, fitting changes and whether you expect the old finish to be removed. The quotation should identify preparation, tile supply, installation materials, trims and finishing details.
Removal and disposal should be identified in the quotation. Tell us what is currently installed and provide photographs so access, preparation and the work required can be assessed.
The required system and the responsibility for supply, preparation and installation need to be expressly agreed for the property. Do not assume they are included solely because a quotation mentions tile laying.
Area is useful, but tile dimensions, surface condition, setting-out, access, removal and material supply also affect the scope. Send those details so the team can assess the work and confirm whether a site visit is needed.
